The project aims to improve the management and technical skills and knowledge related to the operation and control of the TMFs. | The MONISOM project - "ECOLOGICAL METHOD, ASSESSMENT AND BIOMONITORING COMPLEX OF THE QUALITY OF THE SOMES HYDROGRAPHIC BASIN" |
MONISOM is an unconventional method of investigating and controlling environmental pollution and is based on results obtained by: ►researching communities of organisms with a key role in the ecology of the Somes river, namely microorganisms (bacteria) in water and benthos, unicellular algae, macrophytes, organisms from macrozoobenthos and fish; ►analysis of the concentration of heavy metals in the feathers of stork chicks and sea bream; ►analysis of the concentration of heavy metals and cyanides in water and sediment. It is proposed to use a new method of in situ analysis, namely the speciation of heavy metals in water, the technique of diffusion gradients in thin films (DGT). The obtained results were integrated into a unified Geographical Information System (GIS), which allows: ● creating a complete and complex database, ● performing analyzes and correlations, ● maps containing: the exact location of pollution sources, the results provided by studying the communities of living organisms, the level of water and sediment pollution in each of the chosen work sections, their downstream transfer and the implications for transboundary pollution. |

The goal of the proposal entitled Direct, sensitive and selective fluorescence “turn-off” detection of metallic contaminants from water using photoluminescent gold nanoclusters is to implement an optical spectroscopic method, based on probing the photoluminescence of an attractive class of gold nanosensors (i.e. gold nanoclusters (AuNCs)), into a portable spectroscopic device suitable for sensitive and specific detection of two important metallic contaminants (i.e. Fe3+ and Cu2+) from real water sources. Our one-step approach consists in monitoring and quantifing the quenching of the intrinsic PL signal of AuNCs as a consequence of aggregation induced by specific interaction of metallic ions with the surface ligand of AuNCs (i.e. aminoacids) with affinity for the selected metallic contaminats. |

Platforma se bazează pe sisteme de monitorizare inovatoare și pe o infrastructură inteligentă, bazându-se pe tehnici de învățare automată și de inteligență artificială. Platforma măsoară parametrii cheie în timp real, introducând senzori multisenzoriali inovatori care alimentează un lanț de modele ML pentru prognoza seriilor temporale (TSF), detectarea anomaliilor (AD), clasificarea defecțiunilor (FC) și estimarea duratei de viață utilă rămase (RUL). Măsurătorile oferă starea actuală de sănătate a amplasamentului fermei, în timp ce previziunile oferă o imagine a stării viitoare; analiza previziunilor permite identificarea necesității potențiale de întreținere preventivă/corectivă. |

The MODEL-ACVASUB project looks upon the evaluation of quality of aquifers as drinking water sources, and the functioning of the groundwater ecosystems pollutes with mining waters in the catchment’s area of the Aries River. The study will focus on the communities in the surface-subsurface ecotone represented by the hyporheic environment, and on communities in the nearby wells. Polluted and unpolluted segments of the Aries River will be monitored and other possible contaminants will be also considered. Biological, hydrochemical and sedimentological data, which will be acquired in time and space, will be used for modeling of dynamics (e.g. in frequency, abundance) in the structure of biological groundwater communities under the impact of surface pollution. By using heavy metal-indicator species, past and present pollution events can be revealed without the use of chemical determination. |

The aim of the present research proposal is to examine the sedimentation pattern (rates

INTERTRAP proposes detailed investigations of loess samples collected in close proximity to the transition to the recent soil, with the purpose of obtaining a temporal quantification of the ending of the Late Tardiglacial and the beginning of the Holocene on three continents. However, a series of recent luminescence investigations carried out on quartz of different grain sizes extracted from loess yielded severe age discrepancies for ages >~40 ka. While the cause of this observation is hitherto not fully explained, our studies prove that it is a general effect, potentially affecting deposits worldwide, and raising doubts on previous chronologies. |

| Studies on the effects of land use changes on soil erosion and increased sedimentation using radionuclides, PN-III-P1-1.1-TE-2016-0814 |
The first objective is the investigation on a high resolution time scale of the recent changes in sedimentation rate on high mountain lakes.
The second objective is to build an erosion model based on the data obtained by analyzing and mapping the erosion processes on the catchment of a lake located on lowland site from Transylvania for highlighting the impact of land use changes and obtaining evidence of the transportation of solid material from slopes into the sediments of the lake.

| ReCoN-nect, The Green Deal: Research communication to CommuNities |
Interest in the European Green Deal – the most ambitious and challenging goal set by the European Commission – is growing across the EU. Increasing investment in green research and innovation is key to achieving the goal of making the EU climate-neutral by 2050. Growing investments means building the public’s trust in science. With this in mind, the EU-funded ReCoN-nect project will promote green research and STEM education in Romania. Bringing together 6 Romanian research institutes, 4 universities, 1 public body, and 2 civil community associations, ReCoN-nect will develop a new concept of European Researchers’ Night that will be implemented in a nationwide campaign comprising 21 events in representative urban areas across Romania. |

| ReCoNnect, Research Communication for active learning |
Today scientific research delves into a wide range of crucial problems concerning our future such as climate change, pollution levels, diseases and other issues that need urgent solutions. Yet, we lack active involvement in support of scientific undertakings from the general public due to commonly passive and tedious education. The EU-funded ReCoNnect 2 project will develop a continuous and active learning approach with the involvement of scientists, communicators and the general public. The aim is to learn through interaction while doing research together. In support of the endeavour, the project will use the expertise of a consortium of prestigious universities, institutes and STEM educational networks to organise 20 European Researchers’ Night events each of the two years the programme will be running, with a specific focus on rural areas and schools. |

The DAREnet project is to support flood management practitioners across the EU Danube River region and from different disciplines to deepen and broaden their Research, Development and Innovation related collaboration (=RDI). One of the key-results of DAREnet will be a regularly updated RDI Roadmap highlighting promising innovation opportunities to cope with the main environmental and societal challenges of the region. It will provide concrete perspectives for the further development, industrialisation and uptake of innovations of highest relevance for practitioners. The Roadmap will be the result of a systematic assessment and prioritisation of promising innovations, including standardisation to foster the development of common capabilities. The RDI Roadmap will also lay the basis for concrete innovation initiatives, practitioner-driven and “bottom-up”, building a unique portfolio of joint innovation concepts for the Danube river region. |
